IKTAR started with a tiny inconvenience that quietly followed us everywhere
During a trip to Japan, Aditi noticed how effortlessly people carried their phones on lanyards, hands free. When she returned to Delhi, she couldn’t find anything similar that felt elevated yet accessible.
As two friends of 16 years, we’ve always shared the common instinct to build solutions for problems we experience & see around us. Between outfits without pockets, parties where you don’t want to carry a bag, and constantly handing phones to others for safekeeping, we wanted something that allowed women to rely only on themselves.
That’s how IKTAR was born: one connection, one string - a reminder to stay connected to yourself first, free, independent.
We worked hands-on to design lanyards that feel like accessories, not utilities: durable materials, thoughtful lengths, and styles that’d actually elevate your outfits.
Iktar is for the self reliant, expressive, active women because confidence sometimes starts with knowing you’ve got everything you need, right with you.
Aditi believes execution is what turns ideas into impact. From working alongside founders to travelling solo to Japan for a conference (the trip that sparked Iktar), she has consistently pursued opportunities beyond the conventional path. A graduate of Delhi University with a degree in Entrepreneurship and Mathematics, she is passionate about building, problem-solving, and inspiring others to take bold actions. Through her LinkedIn community of 20,000+ followers, she shares insights on ambition, confidence, discipline and creating a life on your own terms.
Vani has always believed that creativity and entrepreneurship go hand in hand. A graduate of Ashoka University in Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship, with additional academic experience at the London School of Economics (LSE), she is passionate about building brands & is inspired by a lifelong love for art and design. She actively promotes confidence, self-reliance and ambition among young women, bringing the same energy to Iktar. When she's not working on Iktar, she's probably at the gym, brainstorming her next business idea, or doing both at the same time.
